MRCSN is a Semi-Governmental, non-profit organization, established under the copyright law of Nepal that protects and administers the rights of authors and composers. Established in 2007, their objectives are to collect royalties for public performances of music in the first phase and the collection of mechanical royalties at a later stage. It has been successful in establishing an efficient, though small, administrative unit. It has been a provisional member of CISAC since 2008.
In cooperation with TONO, MRCSN has been funded by NORCODE since 2010.
